Paraguay's Ministry of Justice began Operation Umbral 2.5 this Sunday, transferring female inmates from various prisons to the Women's Prison Complex (Comple) in Emboscada. The operation, supported by the National Defense Council (CODENA), aims to centralize female incarceration. The National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture (MNP) had previously reported serious human rights violations at Comple, including prolonged isolation and lack of mental health care.

Tourists film jaguar in Argentine reserve; endangered species seen again in the region
